Phantom Hostname
Having a weird issue on one of our boxes.
Automatic SSL generation fails for service level SSLs which we have to ssh into the box to reset manually: /usr/local/cpanel/bin/checkallsslcerts whilst a pain its fine for now.
What's puzzling us and strange is that when that's run a domain pops up (one that was used when the VPS was first setup many moons ago) that as expected has the error:
The system does not control "vps-XXXX.domainname.com". (Checking for previous DNS DCV setup anyway ")
Undoing DNS DCV setup "
" done.
I remember removing this particular domain from the hostname file BUT not only does it show when that script is run BUt it also shows on the manage service level SSL certs page in WHM.
Have checked in all the regular places: hosts, named, http conf file etc... Cant find that domain listed anywhere. Anywhere else it could be hiding?

Hey there! I checked a few personal machines, and none of them have the default/older hostnames in the WHM >> Manage Service SSL Certificates page. This issue will likely require some additional investigation, so could you open a ticket with our team so we can check this? 0 -
