Setting up a custom domain

    Hey there!

I think all of these questions actually have the same answer, as the real question is "where is the best place to manage my DNS?"  It is my opinion that it is much easier to manage the DNS on the cPanel server - when you do that, any change you make in WHM or cPanel is automatically added to the zone file, so you don't have to copy over records and manage them in multiple places.

To do that, you would just create custom nameservers that point to your cPanel server.  We have details on how to do this with Namecheap here:

    https://docs.cpanel.net/knowledge-base/dns/how-to-set-up-nameservers-in-a-cpanel-environment/#namecheap

Although you may need to contact them directly if you need more details on creating those nameservers.

    Hey Jesus,

The best option here is to set up private name servers, managing DNS externally can be annoying. Having everything under one roof is ideal. If you set up private name servers this will do two things, one you will be able to manage your DNS and clients' DNS from right within your cPanel account and not have to host DNS externally.

Two, this will automatically trigger the Auto SSL feature because you will A records for your private name servers, this is the best route to go

Let us know if you have any other questions.
