Two-factor Authentication
AnsweredHi all
I lost my cellphone and now have a new one. I enabled two-factor authentication for root on Cpanel but failed to remove it from CLI using the commands below. Please, help as I need to log in and add the two-factor authentication using my new phone. I also lost the key for this. The license on the Cpanel is valid till December.
When I type the commands I get
status:0
statusmsg: Cannot Read License File
whmapi1 twofactorauth_disable_policy
whmapi1 twofactorauth_remove_user_config user=root

what is the output of command:
/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeycltThis may help:

Yes, until the license file is working properly, these functions also will not work as expected.

When I type /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt I get the below message:
-bash: /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt: No such file or directory.
What could be the problem and how do I resolve this?

That's odd - do you see any other files in /usr/local/cpanel on the machine?

It's fine. I had another server where I already installed Cpanel. I disabled the one where I was having issues, gave this one a new IP address, and transferred the License. I followed the instructions from this link:
I then restored all accounts and services from the backup server. All is good.
Thanks for your responses

I'm glad to hear you came up with a solution! If you were missing files in /usr/local/cpanel, moving to a new machine was likely the best option anyway.
