antispam plugin for cPanel
Hello,
After using ASSP Deluxe for years i received notice that will reach EOL this year. I'm searching for some other solution with similar performance to use.
Some ideas?

Wilson

I am also looking for a better solution than SpamAssassin.
I was considering MSFE. It is a solution from ConfigServer (the same company behind CSF and other similar plugins) based on MailScanner. We've tested it a number of years ago on a single server and it seemed to give better results than SpamAssassin.
However for us this is not a very good fit because we are currently using SpamAssassin to filter redirected emails to stop spams redirected to GMail/Yahoo from our customer's accounts through legitimate forwarders set by customers when they receive occasional spams.
MSFE uninstalls SpamAssassin daemon so the outgoing restrictions set in Exim Configuration no longer work and MSFE doesn't offer an outgoing filtering system. They have something called "Outgoing Spam Monitor" but it doesn't seem to act as an outgoing filter but more like a monitor (and it seems to be able to suspend offending accounts but this doesn't help to filter the occasional spam redirected through a forwarder).
Have you found anything good?

Could either of you let me know what specific issues you're having with SpamAssassin that are causing you to look elsewhere? I'd be happy to send some feedback about it to our email team!

Speaking from my side, we could use a better filter, especially when it comes to phishing, especially those "emails" trying to pursue the email holder to click a button or a link to "release mails from quarantine" or "extend the account" or "reactivate the account" etc etc.
This usually leads to compromised devices and subsequently compromised email accounts. A compromised email account will be used in the best case for sending spam (which results in blacklisted IPs etc).
In the worst case it will be used for spying on the user followed later by a fraud attempt (sometimes successful). Such phishing mails are really old now and the customers expects us to be able to stop them in the vast majority of cases. And this doesn't seem to happen right now. So we need a better protection if possible.
By the way: is there any comprehensive guide regarding an optimized configuration for shared hosting servers of SpamAssassin and ClamAV for better results than the default ones?

Thanks for the additional details. I spoke with our email team and they believe all those things you mention are achievable through SpamAssassin, but it has so many configuration options and settings that it is overwhelming to try and find what you need.
The team would like to build a better and more intuitive interface for SpamAssassin, but it would be a project that takes some time, so it's not something we can roll out in the next week or two, or even the next release or two, but it is something they'd like to tackle in the future. Is there anything specific you'd like to see in such a tool?
As far as a comprehensive guide, I don't have anything available since each situation will differ a bit. We do have an overview page at https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/360055689394-cPanel-s-SpamAssassin-overview that covers many of the most common settings.
