Should one of my name servers be listed among my domains in the DNS Zone Manager?
AnsweredOdd question... As I was looking into some DNS issues I am having with SSL Cert renewals (another topic), I noticed in the list of domains that one of my NS sub-domains was listed in the DNS Zone Manager list, but only one of them. Going down the list; domain.com, ns1.nameserver.com, nameserver.com, domain.com...
Should that ns1.nameserver be listed there at all? It even has records, mail.ns1.nameserver.com, www.ns1.nameserver.com, etc.. Seems odd to me. And if not, how do I delete it from the DNS Zone Manager list?
Thanks!

Hey there! In general, it's best to manage those subdomain records from the main domain.com zone file, so I don't like to see those in place just to avoid confusion.
Removing it will depend a bit on how it was created. I would check and sure this wasn't created as a subdomain under the main cPanel account in cPanel >> Domains. If you see it there, you can delete the subdomain from that page.
If not, you can use WHM >> Delete a DNS Zone to remove just that single zone file if it doesn't belong to a user.

Thank you! It was not listed as a subdomain, and I have no idea when/where it was created, but deleting it solved a DNS issue I'd been having.

I'm glad to hear that's all it took!
