URGENT cPanel Elevate Issues - CloudLinux 7.x to 8.x
Hello,
I need update many cPanel servers with CloudLinux 7.x to 8.x using cPanel Elevate process. A few weeks ago I check the servers using command "/scripts/elevate-cpanel --check" and all are OK to elevate. The last weekend I tried run the command but cPanel Elevate show many issues with CloudLinux packages:
All packages are related to MySQL database versions not supported in CloudLinux 8. After I removed this packages, the command show again that is OK to elevate this server to CloudLinux 8.
This only occurred on servers that had an automatic Cloudlinux update where PHP 8.5 was installed.
I opened a ticket with cPanel support, who informed me that there is a recent issue that is being investigated to identify what is causing this alert.
In parallel, EasyApache 4 stopped working correctly, displaying the error in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log below when run (for any action):
[2026-02-07 22:45:23 -0300] info [xml-api] The package “alt-libcurlssl11” conflicts and we need to install it resolve deps [package_manager_resolve_actions] version [1].
Has anyone else encountered this problem? After removing the conflicting packages, is it safe to run cPanel Elevate?
Thank you,
Bruno

Hi,
It appears the conflicting alt‑php packages you’re seeing during the ELevate process are tied to an internal issue currently being investigated by our developers under case RE‑1650. At this time, the best course of action is to hold off on the ELevate conversion until this case has been resolved. Once a fix is released, it will be reflected in our official changelogs. You can find the cPanel & WHM changelogs here:
Where can I locate the cPanel changelogs?
Regarding the EasyApache 4 issue, this is associated with a separate active case: CPANEL‑51189. Currently, the only known workaround applies specifically to CloudLinux 8 environments. Since your system is running CloudLinux 7, we’ve added your report to the case so our development team is aware that CL7 servers are affected as well.
You may follow the article below to be notified as soon as a fix becomes available:Unable to install packages via EasyApache 4 on CloudLinux 8

William,
Any new information about case RE‑1650?
Thank you,

I'm seeing this was released as part of the version 79 release of ELevate. Are you still seeing issues with that?
