Hi,
Can you check the most recent cPanel update log and see what specific package is triggering the error? For reference:
Where are the cPanel update logs?
As an alternative, you can manually run the following script, which should also produce a more detailed error message:
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/update-packagesThe output from this command should indicate exactly which package is failing and will help us pinpoint the issue more quickly.

Does this mean its Chrome that is the problem?

I ran the alternative command and Chrome has a problem I think. see bottom of log file too. What can I do?0 -
Hi,
It seems that your server has a package installed from a custom repository (google-chrome). You could bypass the issue with this custom repository by disabling it. We have documentation below on how-to disable a repository:
How do I disable a repository on a RHEL-based system
Alternatively, Google offers some documentation below on how-to update their GPG key:

If I disable a repository then google chrome will not update, correct? Will it be removed automatically if I disable?

And does this error stop cPanel from doing everything else it needs to during routine maintenance?

If you disable the repository any tools that were downloaded from it will no longer update. It will not remove any software from the system.
The error is fatal and will keep updates from working properly until it is resolved.
