Symptoms
When performing a cPanel update, the following is reported:
⚠ The server does not currently monitor the “MySQL Server” service.
Service
Description
mysql
MySQL Server
When you enable cPanel’s chkservd service, it can monitor services and restore them if
they fail. If monitoring is disabled, the system will not be able to automagically restore
services if they fail. You can enable monitoring of services in WHM’s “Service Manager”
interface with the “Configure Monitor Settings” link below.
To enable monitoring of all of these services from the command line, use the following
command:
whmapi1 enable_monitor_all_enabled_services
Description
This warning occurs when the "monitor" option is disabled for MySQL in WHM » Home » Service Configuration » Service Manager.
Workaround
Disregard the warning or enable the "monitor" option for MySQL in WHM » Home » Service Configuration » Service Manager to allow chkservd to attempt to start MySQL when chkservd determines the service is down.
