Softaculous error: "Incorrect binary permission Child failed to make LIVEAPI connection to cPanel."

Symptoms

After upgrading cPanel, Softaculous may produce an error similar to one of the following.

Incorrect binary permission Child failed to make LIVEAPI connection to cPanel.

Child failed to make LIVEAPI connection to cPanel.

Description

This issue can happen if cPanel's internal PHP version is updated or there are permissions issues with Softaculous files.

Workaround

Reinstall Softaculous with the steps outlined in their documentation.

Please note that cPanel does create or maintain the Softaculous software.
