Legacy login theme appears when 'default' theme is selected

Symptoms

When reaching the WHM, cPanel, or webmail login page, the 'legacy' theme is displayed, while the 'default' theme is selected via Tweak Settings.

Description

The presence of the/var/cpanel/public_contact directory on the filesystem caused the 'Legacy' login theme to be used. This appears when reaching the WHM, cPanel, or Webmail Login pages.

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-53688. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product. 

Workaround

1. Rename the following directory.

   mv /var/cpanel/public_contact{,.bck}

2. Restart the cPanel (cpsrvd) service.

   /scripts/restartsrv_cpsrvd
