Why are the cPanel access logs in the wrong time?

Why are the cPanel access logs showing the wrong time?  I noticed the timestamps in the following file do not match my server's time.

/usr/local/cpanel/logs/access_log

Answer

By default, the cPanel access log records its entries in UTC rather than the server time.  This is not something that can be modified, however, you can rest assured that it is not a defect.
