Rotated "traffic-apache.log" files are being unarchived, which prevents log rotation

Symptoms

Files that are located at "/var/log/cpanel-server-traffic/web/" are rotated and archived daily by logrotate, but are unarchived the following day. 

Description

The "gather_update_log_stats" script that is run to gather information on cPanel updates also reads these files, and thus it first must unarchive the file. However, the file is not removed or re-archived once this process is completed. As a result, logrotate does not rotate the logs as it is expecting the archived versions.

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-47567. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product. 

Workaround

There is currently no workaround. Any old log files can be safely removed if needed.
