Unable to access PHPmyadmin when signed in as a cPanel teams user.

Symptoms

When signed in as a cPanel team user, when going to access PHPMyAdmin on the account you receive a response such as

mysqli_sql_exception: Access denied for user 'USERNAME'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Description

The default password strength configuration for the team users are not aligned with what is configured in the WHM // Password Strength Configuration. If the password for the team user is weaker then the minimum password for the MySQL service then the user won't be able to access PHPMyAdmin as the password validation fails due to the password strength.

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-48464. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product. 

Workaround

Ensure that the password for the team's user is a strong password with a password strength that matches what is configured at the WHM level in the Password Strength Configuration interface.
