cPanel installation fails on AlmaLinux 10

Symptoms

cPanel install failed with the following errors.

( INFO): Downloading bootstrap packages from httpupdate.cpanel.net
(DEBUG): Retrieving 
http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/RPM/11.108/centos/10/x86_64/rpm.sha512.asc
(FATAL): The system could not fetch 
http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/RPM/11.108/centos/10/x86_64/rpm.sha512.asc 
to file /usr/local/cpanel/tmp/rpm_downloads/rpm.sha512.asc: 
http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/RPM/11.108/centos/10/x86_64/rpm.sha512.asc:
ERROR 404: Not Found.
(ERROR):  ssystem [EXIT_CODE] './fix-cpanel-perl' exited with 2
(DEBUG):   - ssystem [END]

Description

cPanel installs version 130 by default at this time. If you try to run the installer without customizing the version on AlmaLinux 10, the install will fail.

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-49672. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product. 

Workaround

Customize the version prior to running the installation. You must set the version edge or tier 132 to install cPanel on AlmaLinux 10. 

• Run the command below to set the tier to edge.

  echo "CPANEL=edge" > /etc/cpupdate.conf
