Using Terminal To Access the Command Line

Introduction

Within both cPanel and WHM, we offer the Terminal interface to open an in-browser terminal application for direct command-line access to cPanel & WHM.

Procedure

Accessing this will vary depending on if you are accessing this through the cPanel or WHM interfaces. Below we cover both methods.

cPanel 

1. Log in to the server via cPanel as the cPanel user.
2. Navigate to "Home / Advanced / Terminal"
3. Click on "I understand and want to proceed."

Please note that this interface only appears if both of the following conditions are true:

• You possess shell access.
• Your hosting provider enables the SSH Access & Terminal feature in WHM’s Feature Manager interface (Home / Packages / Feature Manager). 
  Feature Manager

WHM

1. Log in to the server via WHM as the root user.
2. Navigate to "Home / Server Configuration / Terminal"
3. Click on "I understand and want to proceed."

Please note that Resellers must possess the Everything ACL for this interface to appear in WHM. For more information, read the Root Access section of our Edit Reseller Nameservers and Privileges documentation.
