Symptoms
PHP versions sometimes change unexpectedly after cPanel nightly maintenance runs
Cause
If domains or subdomains share a document root, and they are set to different versions of PHP in the MultiPHP Manager, it is possible for the actual version of PHP used by both domains to change during nightly maintenance.
Resolution
We have opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-31475. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.
In WHM
- Log in to WHM as
root - Navigate to Home / Software / MultiPHP Manager
- Use the MultiPHP Manager to ensure that any domains that share a document root have the same version of PHP
In cPanel
- Log in to cPanel as the cPanel user
- Click on the MultiPHP Manager icon
- Ensure that any domains that share a document root are using the same version of PHP
