Question
Which KernelCare patch should I use?
Answer
The best KernelCare patch type for you will depend on whether you have purchased KernelCare or not. Servers without a KernelCare license will use the free (edf) patch set.
If you have a KernelCare license, you can choose either the default or extra patch sets. Extra includes additional security fixes not present in the default version. Servers using CloudLinux use the default patch version, as the CloudLinux kernel already includes the fixes from extra.
Set the patch type
Once you have determined which patch type is for you, use the following command to set up kernel care to use it:
kcarectl --set-patch-type [default|extra|edf]
Only one of the patch types needs to be selected when setting the patch type.
