Question
How do I limit or disable features for cPanel users?
Answer
As a WHM root user administrator, you may have many cPanel accounts to manage, some of which may require different levels of access and features. The cPanel & WHM software offers tools and customization options to disable certain features or functionality from the cPanel accounts of your choice.
You can use the "WHM / Packages / Feature Manager" to edit an existing Feature List or create a new one. Feature Lists are the set of features to which a cPanel account will have access. These lists can then be assigned to a Package that you can assign to a group of users.
The features that you select in the Feature List will be the ones to remain enabled. If a feature is unselected and thus disabled, it will also disable and remove the feature icon completely from the cPanel account. For example, suppose you wish to offer a package with no mail access. In that case, you can unselect all the Email related features on the list, and these options will no longer be available for the user in the cPanel account interface.
Making changes to the built-in Feature List disabled allows you to disable features for all accounts. Attempting to use the disabled Feature List to create an account will fail, however.
