Available disk space is too low. Backups will not run.

Symptoms

You may see fewer backups on your server or remote backup destination than there are accounts being backed up, and an error similar to the following may appear in the backup logs.

CONFIG_TEXT: Available disk space (## percent) is too low. Backups will not run. at /usr/local/cpanel/bin/backup line 1251.

Cause

This indicates that the disk that the backup system is using is running low on space during backups. As such, further backups can not be created.

Resolution

Configure an off-site backup destination to help with the data storage.

1. Log in to WHM as the root user.
2. Navigate to Home / Backup / Backup Configuration / Additional Destinations.
3. Configure a compatible remote destination for backups.
