Symptoms
After restoring a full account backup in-place using tools like the "Transfer or Restore a cPanel Account" or via "restorepkg" directly, any mailing list on the account has grown significantly in size.
Description
During the restore process, the Mailman data in the backup is intended to replace what is live on the account. At this time, however, it is being observed that the backup data is instead being appended to the mailing list files instead of replacing them.
We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-47121. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.
Workaround
Remove the account before performing a backup restore.
