How to Hide Access to the cPanel Terminal

Introduction

The cPanel Terminal and SSH Access features are currently connected; however, you may want to hide access to the cPanel Terminal while still retaining access to the SSH Keys feature.

 

Procedure

  1. Enable the SSH Access & Terminal feature in the feature list(s).
  2. Create this directory: 
    mkdir /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern/dynamicui
  3. Create the file to hide the Terminal: 
    echo -e '[{"file":"terminal","skipobj":1}]' > /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern/dynamicui/dynamicui_hide_terminal.conf
