Question
How do you control what packages a reseller can use and see?
Answer
While creating a package in WHM at Home / Packages / Add a Package, the name of the package will determine if a reseller can use it. Unusable packages will not be displayed to the reseller.
Package usability is determined as follows:
| Type of package | Example | Description | Reseller can use/view |
|---|---|---|---|
| Root | root_package |
root, an underscore, and a package name. |
No |
| User | reseller_package |
The reseller’s username, an underscore, and a package name. | Yes, if the reseller is the same as the prefix. |
| Global | package |
A package name that does not contain any underscores. | Yes, if the hosting provider enables the viewglobalpackages ACL for the reseller; otherwise, no. |
