Introduction
If the Basic WebHost Manager® Setup is missing required configuration settings, errors such as the following will occur when attempting to create an account on your cPanel server:
During account creation in WHM:
Account Creation Status: failed
Missing HOMEDIR Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf, please reconfigure with Edit Setup.
Account Creation Status: failed
Missing LOGSTYLE Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf, please reconfigure with Edit Setup.
Account Creation Status: failed
Missing SCRIPTALIAS Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf, please reconfigure with Edit Setup.
During transfers to your cPanel server:
Failed to create the account: Missing HOMEDIR Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf, please reconfigure with Edit Setup.
Failed to create the account: Missing LOGSTYLE Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf, please reconfigure with Edit Setup.
Failed to create the account: Missing SCRIPTALIAS Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf, please reconfigure with Edit Setup.
These errors can occur when turning up new virtual servers from a template if the template has an outdated or incomplete /etc/wwwacct.conf
file. To fix these errors, complete each corresponding section in the Basic WebHost Manager® Setup interface.
Procedure
1) Log into WHM
2) Open Basic WebHost Manager® Setup
3) For the "Missing HOMEDIR Config Line" error, select a value for this option:
Enter the location where you wish for new users’ home directories to be created.
By default all directories matching the "Home Directory Prefix" are checked for
available disk space and the directory with the most free space will be used.
The default for this option is '/home.'
4) For the "Missing LOGSTYLE Config Line" error, select a value for this option:
Enter the style in which you wish to receive your Apache logs.
* combined - All information including referers, user agents, and requested files
are logged.
* common - Only information about requested files are logged.
The default for this option is 'combined.'
5) For the "Missing SCRIPTALIAS Config Line" error, select a value for this option:
Automatically create a cgi-bin script alias. This setting can be individually
overridden during account creation.
The default for this option is 'Yes.'
6) Save your changes
7) Attempt to create or transfer your account again
