Migrate one email account own domain to office 365
Hi all, I want to migrate only one mail account of my hosting mail to office 365 due to storage capabilities.
It's possible to have got for example, primary@domain.com in office365, and the other mails like other@domain.com,other1@domain.com,other2@domain.com,other3@domain.com in my cpanel hosting server?
I read a lot of threads, that using mx records, but for example, if I use mx record for outlook as 0 priority and for my domain like 1, it will be any problem?
It will lose some mails? I don't know if in this way will work.
How can I do for made this change for only one address of email.

Hey there! While you can specify which domains on a server will send to different locations () I'm not aware of a way to do that with individual email accounts. If you modify the MX records that will affect all addresses on the domain. 0 -
appologies... i mis read your scenario, but i'll leve my original response below incase it's of any interest This might work for you, its long winded, but has worked for me. Using your email client software (lets say thunderbird or outlook as an example) Create your email accounts for both Cpanel and Outlook 365, then drag and drop from one to the other. Depending on how much data you have, it can take quite some time though, so don't expect instant results. 0 -
If you are using O365 for that account you can always redirect from primary@domain.com to primary@domain.onmicrosoft.com and that should do the trick, no DNS entry neded for this workarround. 0 -
Thanks for your reply, it sounds good, but, if I send the mails with O365, it will appear with my domain mail? or with the primary@domain.onmicrosoft.com?? 0 -
@mufyto - that's likely up to the O365 configuration, so I can't say for sure. I would assume it sends from the Microsoft domain once things are handled on their end. 0
