Introduction
This guide will explain how to set up your cPanel-created email account in the Thunderbird email app.
How to setup email in Thunderbird.
Procedure
- Open the Thunderbird menu "File / New / Existing Mail Account".
- Enter your name, email address, and password; then click Continue.
- Thunderbird will attempt to detect the settings
Please note that if an error occurs, you will need to enter your details manually. The relevant settings lists are outlined at the end of this section. - The next screen will ask you to fill in the details; you can use POP or IMAP as you prefer.
- For incoming and outgoing mail server settings, you can use the following settings:
IMAP:
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email account password
- Server: mail.domain.tld (replace domain.tld with your domain)
- Port: 993
- Security Type: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal Password
POP:
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email account password
- Server: mail.domain.tld (replace domain.tld with your domain)
- Port: 993
- Security Type: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal Password
Outgoing/SMTP:
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email account password
- Server: mail.domain.tld (replace domain.tld with your domain)
- Port: 465 / 587
- Security Type: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal Password
