Symptoms
When accessing /cpanel, /webmail, and /whm redirects on a server using CloudLinux and LVE memory limits I receive a 500 error. The following error is output via the server's system log:
Jan 01 00:00:00 server kernel: redirect.cgi invoked oom-killer: gfp_mask=0xd0, order=0, oom_score_adj=0
Jan 01 00:00:00 securenet kernel: [<ffffffffbc3af2b8>] oom_kill_process+0x5e8/0x640
Jan 01 00:00:00 securenet kernel: Task in /lve1116 killed as a result of limit of /lve1116
Description
This is often caused by the memory limits of the user's LVE being too low. You can navigate to WHM / Server Configuration / CloudLinux LVE Manager to manage the memory limits.
Workaround
Increase or disable the PMEM limit within the LVE Manager for affected accounts:
- Log in to WHM as the 'root' user.
- Navigate to "Home / Server Configuration / CloudLinux Manager."
- Select the "Packages" tab. This will allow you to view the CloudLinux limits for each package.
- Click the pencil icon to the right of the package in the "Actions" column.
- Modify or disable the settings as required.
- Click the "Save" button.
