'tech_domains' array in /etc/cpanel/ea4/ea4-metainfo.json contained only invalid or empty entries

Symptoms

The following warning appears in the DNS Zone Manager and/or the cPanel File Manager.

A warning occurred while processing this directive. [show] [close]
'tech_domains' array in /etc/cpanel/ea4/ea4-metainfo.json contained only invalid or empty entries.

Description

This error can occur after updating to cPanel version 130+ if the ea-cpanel-tools package is not up to date. The updates for this package can fail to be installed if system package updates are disabled or an error occurs in the update-packages script during the daily cPanel updates.

Workaround

You must update the ea-cpanel-tools package. 

Please note that while the following workaround will resolve this error, we do advise reviewing your update logs and preferences to ensure system packages are updating automatically.

• On a server running AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, or CloudLinux:

  yum update ea-cpanel-tools

• On a server running Ubuntu 20 or 22:

  apt install --only-upgrade ea-cpanel-tools
