Introduction
Some administrators may wish to prevent server abuse by blocking registered domains from specific countries or origins (e.g. free domains). cPanel offers this as a feature, and this article provides steps on how to add domains the server owner/administrator doesn't want to be added by a user.
Procedure
User-denied domains are controlled via the /var/cpanel/commondomains file and it's functionality must be enabled.
- Log into WHM
- Access Tweak Settings - "Home / Server Configuration / Tweak Settings"
- Click the Domains tab
- Ensure "Prevent cPanel users from creating specific domains" is On.
- Create the file /var/cpanel/commondomains and add full domains or just top-level domains to the file. The file can be modified using nano or vi like the following:
nano /var/cpanel/commondomains
The following are examples that can be added.
a.com
b.com
c.com
.cat
.ninja
