Account backups not being copied to the remote backup destination because they're timing out

Symptoms

Account backups are not being copied or fully copied to the remote backup destination, and messages like these appear in the /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup_transporter.log file:

[2020-08-18 06:04:52 -0400] warn [cpbackup_transporter] Upload attempt failed: Time out reached for upload attempt #1

Description

The timeout-reached failure is caused by the value configured here being reached while an account's backup is being copied over:

WHM » Backup Configuration » Maximum Destination Backup Timeout

It is likely that this value needs to be increased if your server's accounts take up a lot of space or if the network connection between your cPanel server and the remote backup destination is slow.

Workaround

Increase the value here:

WHM » Backup Configuration » Maximum Destination Backup Timeout

Make sure the number of seconds you enter provides enough time for the system to upload your largest backup file.
