How to increase memory limit for Dovecot POP3 and IMAP processes

Introduction

If you receive warnings that the Dovecot service has run out of memory, you might want to consider increasing its memory limit. Warning email subjects may resemble the following:

The “lmtp” service reached its memory limit while it accessed mail

The “imap” service reached its memory limit while it accessed mail

Procedure

The memory limit for Dovecot can be increased via the Mailserver Configuration page.

1. Login to WHM and navigate to the Home >> Service Configuration >> Mailserver Configuration page.

2. Locate the "Process Memory Limit for Mail (MB)" setting.

3. Set the desired memory limit here.
