How to increase the maximum message size of messages within Exim.

Question

By default, the largest message that Exim can send is 50 MB. How can this be changed?

Answer

You can use the following procedure to raise the maximum size of an Exim message

1. Log in to WHM as the root user.
2. Navigate to Home / Service Configuration / Exim Configuration Manager.
3. Click the Advanced Editor tab.
4. Scroll down to the Add additional configuration setting button and select it.
5. Select message_size_limit from the new dropdown menu.

6. Enter the desired value in the textbox.

   Note: The value must be in kilobytes (K) or megabytes (M).

7. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
8. Click the Save button.

Note: If you do not also increase the maximum allowed attachment size in Webmail, you will still be unable to attach files larger than 50 MB in Webmail.
