Symptoms
You find that the message ID header is missing from some email messages.
Description
By default, Exim does not add, remove, or alter the message ID. The message ID is normally generated by the mail client.
Workaround
- Log into WHM as the ‘root’ user.
- Navigate to "Home / Service Configuration / Exim Configuration Manager."
- Click the "Advanced Editor" tab.
- Scroll down to the "custom_begin_smtp_predata" option.
- Check the "custom_begin_smtp_predata" option is not checked.
- Add the following to the "custom_begin_smtp_predata" text box.
warn control = submission/sender_retain
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click the "Save" button.
