Socket file /usr/local/cpanel/var/cpdoveauth_domainownerd.sock incorrectly set in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf

Symptoms

Some email authentication errors are occurring with /var/log/maillog entries

# Error: domain_owner: db-lua: Socket error: Failed to connect to /usr/local/cpanel/var/cpdoveauthd_domainownerd.sock: No such file or directory

 

Cause

The /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf file is being built with an incorrect socket link to /usr/local/cpanel/var/cpdoveauth_domainownerd.sock and is causing email authentication issues.

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-50612. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product. 

 

Resolution

This is resolved in cPanel 132.0.14 and 134.0.0.

If you still see this issue, please rebuild the Dovecot configuration:

# /scripts/builddovecotconf
