Dovecot Cannot allocate memory errors after updating to cPanel version 132

Symptoms

After updating to cPanel version 132, the Dovecot service shows the following errors:

CONFIG_TEXT: pop3-login: Fatal: Failed to read config: mmap(/var/run/dovecot/config) failed: Cannot allocate memory
imap-login: Fatal: Failed to read config: mmap(/var/run/dovecot/config) failed: Cannot allocate memory

Cause

On servers with a larger number of domains in the SNI configuration, updating to Dovecot 2.4 can introduce memory errors in the authentication processes.

Resolution

To resolve this, you will need to increase the memory limit for authentication processes.

1. Log in to WHM
2. Navigate to Home / Service Configuration / Mailserver Configuration
3. Locate the setting: Process Memory Limit for Mail (MB)
4. Increase the memory limit.
5. Click the Save button to apply the changes.
