I have spent a couple weeks with the new WHM theme now and all my servers are updated. I can honestly say there is nothing in the new theme that has improved my day. Absolutely nothing. And that is me imagining the new theme without all the bugs I'm encountering now which I hope they will fix most of. If the theme was working towards something improved, fine, but it is not. It just a downgrade across the board. Please let us go back and use the old theme. The price increase and this is too much.

Big update for everyone regarding Jupiter WHM. This may be a multimedia-heavy post, so to see screenshots, make sure to login. Starting in 102.0.11, you'll see a few major features arrive to Jupiter WHM that should restore or otherwise iterate on the features many of you have pointed to as core concerns. Unless otherwise noted below, these updates will arrive on the v102 tier and proliferate through EDGE, CURRENT, and RELEASE as typical builds do. Watch our I mentioned it over on the feature request site, but its important to talk about it here as well: The load averages are returning to the top navigation and will remain on the main index page's dashboard as well. We are also adding a "rising", "falling" and "steady" indicator to assist users in understanding the performance of their server. Here's a work-in-progress screenshot of how that looks. And just because many will remind us: YES, clicking in this area will launch the Process Manager as before. Third, you'll be able to personalize your favorites on the index page (arriving in v106) Another common concern expressed over the years, even prior to Jupiter in WHM, was the links on the main index page quickly becoming irrelevant after the server is set up and operating. To address that, we're adding in a homescreen-like experience so that you can configure your own Top Tools as you see fit. Here's what that looks like: The Favorites section starts off with the standard Top Tools we have now, but clicking 'edit' will enter a "jiggle mode" (does not actually jiggle) were you can delete and rearrange your Favorites. To add more, simply scroll down to the full list and click the next to the items to add them. What's next after this? We aren't leaving to work on other projects; we're staying in the vicinity of Jupiter, in all interfaces, for the foreseeable future to keep addressing core concerns. Coming up in the list of things we are going to do are...
    • Restore the hostname, server OS, and hosting-technology to the top navigation so that you can quickly identify which server you have open in your browser tab.
    • Add indication that you are logged in as someone else (internally we call this 'impersonation') in both :2083 and :2087, so that you can know what session you have open and jump into and out of accounts with ease
    • Adjust the text/link colors and the font-weight to improve readability and glance-ability
    • Provide the means to personalize the colors or contrast of the left navigation so that users that experience retinal burn-in (common but not universal among people with astigmatism) can dial things in to their liking
    • Consolidate the list of translations we support down to a core list and then translate 100% of strings into those languages so that users who prefer to use cPanel & WHM in something other than English have a great experience. (We are in the estimation phase with translators right now in hot pursuit of this)

Thanks for the detailed reply. I hope you realise that WHM workflow and theme change impacts a very large number of admins, novices and resellers. How do you justify the forced migration of all these people onto an interface still not ready? I would still recommend allowing people to switch back and forth between WHM themes even if the old paper_lantern is no longer updated and depreciated, during the transition period.

In WHM the useful icon based 'classic' view, where I could see all the options in one page clearly, is now a space wasting list that replicates the left sidebar (? why ?) and has to be scrolled to find the tool you want. And the icons in it are less clear. It's a terrible redesign that makes using WHM a complete pain. Thank heavens I haven't updated cPanel itself. I dread to think how that's been ruined. Probably the same way. Yes I know you don't want to after wasting all that effort but for heaven's sake give us the 'classic' view option back.

Next, we aren't satisfied with our strategy around notifications in the UI. I'm referring to the bell icon found in the top navigation. Its been cited several times as being totally missed. (Its okay if you didn't even know it was there until you read this sentence.) When your server needs your attention, it should be quick and easy to spot that...and it shouldn't entail digging through your mailbox to find an automated alert.

As a minor update to this, we have just scheduled work to bump up the discoverability of this notification area in v102. This is just an iterative improvement; not the grander redesign work we continue to be interested in.

Thanks for the update. I, too, am a looong time WHM/cPanel server admin and I was quite shocked and dismayed at the changes that seemed to come out of nowhere from cPanel Inc. Maybe in the future, allow some customers to opt-in to a beta program where you can get feedback from some server admins and find out what the overall consensus is about a complete redesign before you go rolling it out to thousands of servers. I know it's easy to brush off some feedback as just being a knee jerk reaction to change. But honestly, the new version is truly, truly terrible. More difficult to find things that used to be very easy to use. I look forward to the improvements that were outlined above and here's to hoping that some more testing/customer polling will be done before the next time this happens.

Well... Cpanel is listening... But this was made in a very amadorish way... NEVER take anything before the new is very tested and really matured... Removing paper Lantern was a mistake... the new Jupiter is a step back and not forward... This is clearly seen by all the reply so far... Also we need classic templates allong with these new templates... Make that happen... Don"t start to mess with WHM when there is so miss match from all the older templates... just iterate on Paper Lantern and not Jupiter FFS! Finally... WE WANT ICONS BACK! i need my icons back on whm and on Cpanel... The template with just text is a mess and ppl are having a hard time to navigate on it... Make it happer... the sooner the better... Any idea on when we will see the following fixes? WHM Ability to toggle off the left hand side (dark background menu)? Ability to customize the rest of the css for the main window? Ability to use custom icon in the main window? Disable/Hide TOP TOOLS and STATISTICS? cPanel Ability to toggle off the left hand side (dark background menu)? Ability to customize the rest of the css for the ma Get rid of the TOOLS title in the main window as it is totally unnecessary? Ability to use custom icon in the main window? All have been discussed and most have been said to be a work in progress. PLEASE stop making WHM look so plain and flat with such little contrast. It is EXTREMELY difficult to use for those of us with limited vision. This is one of the main reasons that the css customization and custom icons are needed badly. As we all know, the main property of good soaftwrae is NOT looking cool, but rather being functionally usable. Some of the WHM development seems to have forgotten this and gotten it backwards!

Can someone with cPanel please tell me where the icons/u=icon sprites for WHM and cPanel are stored for the new design?

Dear cPanel team. I have no idea which one of you came up with this with the new design idea. It's an absolute "bullshit" of what you've done. And it's not even thought through to the end. A customer should be able to switch the design. I can't do that. I can't change it back and I'm really angry. Why are you forcing us into this eye cancer causing blue ugly theme. I just don't understand you. I dislike to work with WHM now. Thanks! Please bring the old design back and than let your fingers away from it. Never again change a running system - PLEASE!

Just had my encounter with the new WHM theme.... It's hella ugly hahahahahahahahaha Seems like a downgrade, or rather a half-assed attempt at minimalism / white space navigation design?

@PCZero - you've likely heard me say this before, but there's not an official ETA for those at this point. If we have one, either myself or @cPanelAdamF would have included that. As for the icons, there isn't just one place those live - they can be in any of the following: /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/icons /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/images /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/img-sys /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/themes/x/icons I'm guessing the real question behind the question is that you would like to replace this with a custom set. That won't work well as cPanel will overwrite the changes, and if the files are chattr'd future updates will fail and there could be possible interface issues.

Here's the initial iteration we are considering (visuals may continue to change). We aren't able to commission an entire project to add read/unread status tracking and message severity like we want to, but we're not ruling that out for future development in a later major version. alt="Screen Shot 2022-04-11 at 11.23.03 AM.png">77233 alt="Screen Shot 2022-04-11 at 11.23.09 AM.png">77237 The development team was even able to make the little bell ring with a gentle touch of animation as well. Should definitely get users' attention now!

But... After 12 pages of costumers complaining and asking to revert to the later template, Cpanel is still not getting the message? This abomination of a template is to put on the incinerator and never talk of it again... Like some radioactive cancer... Add the "Classic" template and that abomination if you like, but don"t force it on the costumers... Best Regards,

hi The new whm theme is very annoying No icons I have to look with my eyes in every corner Secondly, the processor has become consuming more than half. I think even the update has not been tested and is compatible with other tools I have seen that people are complaining about this theme since January How did you 3 months not add the option of the old theme After you impose this theme Now prepare for thousands of complaints Because he is so tired Please put an article to explain the restoration of the old theme

Leaving aside the aesthetics and user design considerations, the new theme is entirely broken using the Safari browser for Mac. No I don't want to use another browser, thanks. The left side menu covers the left side of the content window, and there is no way to horizontally scroll the content out from under the menu. This needs to be fixed because I can't use the product I am paying for in this state.

Links in "View Mail Statistics Summary" don't work, you have to scroll. Is it only me?

@WillWily - a vast majority of cPanel techs use Mac machines, and I wasn't able to reproduce this on my end. I changed the browser zoom and resolution and couldn't get that to happen. @domeneas - I do see this happening and I'll get a case created!

@domeneas - I've created case CPANEL-40422 for our team to work on the links issue.

I would prefer the search input to be back over the top of the left side navigation. The sidebar links are far too big and really need icons to help us navigate quickly. There's far too much scrolling involved when its all expanded. Take me back to 2003 where the links were small and the list was dense and easily scrollable. I don't care for WHM looking pretty, its a utility where I want to get things done quickly.

That's the page fully loaded. The right side was cut to hide the server details.

I can't just understand this WHM 102 is more painfully and unable to see where you had an experience of options and anything than the current WHM theme, I would go back to the original if tweaks or revert will be available again... I'd go with WHM and cPanel for Paper Lantern Theme, but retro is lovely as well. If a choice of people customer who would like to choose one current style is a very important 100%... If without a customer choice and only cPanel Designer prefers one style rework anything without a Style chooser is not okay...
