Symptoms
When attempting to unsuspend an account, access the account's cPanel, or remove a DNS zone, you encounter an error similar to one of the following:
CONFIG_TEXT: No vhosts config data for user “cpusername” at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Config/WebVhosts.pm line 86.
CONFIG_TEXT: (XID n67qde) “/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/xfertool” reported error code “255” when it ended: No vhosts config data for user “cpusername” at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Config/WebVhosts.pm line 86.
When attempting to backup the account, you encounter an error similar to the following:
CONFIG_TEXT: [2023-01-09 08:25:26 +0200] Copy userdata...opendir(/var/cpanel/userdata/cpusername): No such file or directory
Cause
The error occurs when the user's /var/cpanel/userdata/$USER folder is missing. The userdata folder must be restored from a backup.
Note: You will want to replace $USER with the actual cPanel account's username.
Resolution
Restore the account from a known good backup.
