How To Disable Zone Transfers (AXFR):PowerDNS – cPanel

Introduction

Zone transfers are enabled by default on cPanel servers. The following procedure provides the steps needed to disable AXFR transfers if enabled.

Access the server's command line as the 'root' user via SSH or "Terminal" in WHM.
Open /etc/pdns/pdns.conf in your preferred text editor.
Locate the disable-axfr line.
Change the value to yes.
```
disable-axfr=yes
```
Save the changes and exit the text editor.
Rebuild the DNS configuration.
```
/scripts/rebuilddnsconfig
```
Restart the PowerDNS service.

/scripts/restartsrv_named
```
