Question
What is OpenDNS recursion?
Answer
There are a number of public and free recursion servers available from a number of providers. One of them is OpenDNS. A recursion server is what's used for DNS lookups on servers and workstations to query answers for domains configured with ROOT DNS server name servers on the public internet.
No permission is required and is free to use.
