Symptoms
Emails aren't sent/received using the respective IPv6 addresses configured in /etc/mailips
file.
Description
cPanel allows users to configure dedicated and shared IPv6 ranges in WHM to use with accounts. However, this functionality doesn't fully apply to the SMTP configurable outgoing IP addresses via the /etc/mailips
file.
We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-43489. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.
Workaround
- Access the server's command line as the 'root' user via SSH or "Terminal" in WHM.
- Create the
exim_ipv6_sort_bias
touchfile.touch /var/cpanel/exim_ipv6_sort_bias
