How to change the role for a server in your DNS Cluster

Introduction

The DNS Cluster feature set is flexible to allow for an array of configurations. Sometimes the initial setup does not meet your needs, and you need to change the role settings for individual members. The following guide explains how you can update this setting.

Procedure

To update the configured role for a DNS Cluster member:

1. Log in to WHM as the root user for the server on which you wish to change the setting.
2. Navigate to Home » Clusters » DNS Cluster.
3. Locate the remote server on which you wish to change how zones are sent to it. In the column labeled DNS Role next to that server name, select the desired Role (Standalone, Synchronize, or Write-Only).
4. Once the preferred role has been selected from the dropdown, click the save button denoted by the disk icon:
