Introduction
If your domain is registered with DreamHost you can use the following steps to configure your DNS records within your DreamHost panel.
Procedure
Here are the steps as provided from the DreamHost documentation.
- Navigate to the Websites page.
- Open the Manage page for the site by clicking the Manage button.
- Click the DNS tab.
- Click the Add Record button.
- Hover over the record section that you want to add and click the ADD link.
- You must first set the domain to DNS Only. You can then leave this field blank.
- Enter the Host, Root, Subdomain, and Points to values.
Host: This is either the root domain or a subdomain (blog, store, etc).
Root A record: If you want to create an A record for the root domain to point away from
Subdomain A record: For a subdomain (blog, dev, shop, etc), enter the subdomain name in this field.
Points to: Enter the IP address the subdomain will point to.
- Click the Add Record button to save.
