Eximstats import triggers SQLITE_CONSTRAINT for forwarded emails

Symptoms

Eximstats returns the following error in tailwatchd_log.

• /usr/local/cpanel/logs/tailwatchd_log 

[Cpanel::TailWatch::Eximstats] [ERR] SQL Failed with error ((XID 6wwe7k) 
The system received an error from the “SQLite” database 
“/var/cpanel/eximstats_db.sqlite3”: SQLITE_CONSTRAINT 
(UNIQUE constraint failed: smtp.sendunixtime, smtp.msgid, smtp.email, 
smtp.deliveredto, smtp.router)): INSERT INTO smtp
[Cpanel::TailWatch::Eximstats] [SQLERR] Could not execute query, 
logging SQL to /var/cpanel/sql

Description

The Eximstats database generates the email delivery reports. It was discovered that some emails can't be imported because they are forwarded emails containing the same ID as the original recipient. Forwarded emails saved to a local inbox will trigger this problem. The SQL query couldn't identify the forwarded address to create the unique ID.

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-48017. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.
