License File too old (updates expired)

Symptoms

You may see an error similar to the following while updating the cPanel license:

License is too old (updates expired)

Cause 

This is due to updates for the license expiring. 

Resolution

If the license was purchased from cPanel directly, you can log into your cPanel store account and purchase further updates for the server.

1. Log into your cPanel store account: 

   cPanel Store

2. Click the View my licenses link
3. Find the IP of the current lifetime license
4. Click the circle icon with the arrows to the far right of that IP
5. Complete the checkout of your 1 Time Updates purchase

Note: If the license was purchased through a Partner or Distributor, you would need to contact them directly to purchase the update.
