How do I upgrade my cPanel/WHM license?

Overview

You can upgrade your license directly in the Manage Licenses section of your cPanel Store account. The new license takes effect immediately; however, the server must be refreshed to apply the updated privileges.

If you have an invoice due you must pay it before you can request an upgrade to the account. You will only be charged the prorated difference.

Note: This guide applies to cPanel Store users only. cPanel Partners must use Manage2 or contact Customer Service directly for license upgrades or conversions.

How to Upgrade Your License

1. Log in to your cPanel Store account.
   
2. Click Orders/Licenses, then select View My Licenses.
   
3. Locate the license you wish to upgrade.
4. Click the Active status link beside the license.
5. Click Upgrade. The Upgrade License window will appear.
   
6. Select your desired package and click Order.
   
7. The upgrade takes effect immediately. If applicable, the cPanel Store will prorate the upgrade cost.
   
   To refresh the license on your server, run the following command as the root user via SSH:

/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

Important Billing Information

If the cost of the license upgrade is less than $0.50, the system cannot process the transaction via credit card. In that case, please:

• Use PayPal to complete the transaction, or
• Contact cs@cpanel.net for assistance
