When setting up a MailNode for a server in a DNS Cluster, do I need to add the MailNode to the DNS Cluster as well?

No. You will not be editing DNS on the MailNode, so you do not need to add it to the cluster. Any changes will be pushed through the Standard Node that the MailNode is attached to (which does need to be part of the cluster).
