How to change how often the Mac mail application checks for new emails

Follow the procedure below to change how often the Mac mail application checks for new emails.

Procedure

1. Open the Mac mail application.
2. In the top menu near the Apple logo, click Mail.
3. Click Preferences.
4. Click the General tab.
5. Click the drop-down menu next to "Check for new messages."
6. Select the desired frequency.

Optionally, you may manually check for new emails by pressing the "CMD+SHIFT+N" keys.
