Why did the nameserver fail during command "service named status" ?

We tried to restart named, but it's is also failing and cannot start:

root@server [~]# service named status
rndc: recv failed: out of range
named is stopped

Maybe it's related to pdns bug/issue?

This status message will appear when PowerDNS (PDNS) is being used instead of BIND (named). The key message is "named is stopped".

Please utilize the below command to check the status and for restarts of PowerDNS.

Status command:

/scripts/restartsrv_pdns --status

Restart command:

/scripts/restartsrv_pdns --restart
