DNS cluster connection error (Could not communicate with remote API server. )

Symptoms

Accessing the WHM DNS Cluster interface shows the following error:

Could not communicate with remote API server

The cPanel error_log will show the following error:

Please note: 203.0.113.2 represents the DNS cluster member IP address.

Description

When accessing the WHM DNS Cluster interface, a status test is performed between cluster members. This process has a timeout of 7 seconds. Any server taking longer than 7 seconds to respond will display an error message. This error does not affect functionality as it is only the result of a status test.

We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is CPANEL-46346. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product. 

Workaround

You can ignore this error as the DNS cluster continues to function when the status check fails.
