How to create a cPanel account
What is an account for licensing?
Each server instance requires its own license. The type of license depends on the server system and the number of accounts that are hosted on the server.
An account is another term for a cPanel user account that manages websites, files, domains, and email accounts. Hosting providers create and manage cPanel accounts through WHM. WHM reseller accounts are included as an account. Accounts are created under Account Functions in WHM.
cPanel does not limit the domains on a cPanel account. The amount of license accounts depends on how the domains are distributed across individual cPanels under the WHM.
After your account has been created, you will be able to log in to cPanel, locate file manager, and upload your files. Additional information can be found here: https://docs.cpanel.net/installation-guide/whm/
FAQ:
Why did my license renew on the 1st when I purchased it on a different date?
cPanel's monthly "Billing Cycle" begins on the 1st day of each month and ends on the last day of that month. Your primary credit card on file will be automatically charged at the end of each Billing Cycle for each of your active monthly licenses until the license is canceled.
Why did I not receive a prorated discount when I renewed my license?
As cPanel's monthly "Billing Cycle" begins on the 1st day of each month CST and ends on the last day of that month, based on the Activation Date, your first invoice may be prorated depending on when the Activation Date occurred during the Billing Cycle. Thereafter, your primary credit card on file will be automatically charged the full price of the license at the end of each Billing Cycle.
How do I cancel my license immediately?
To cancel a license purchased through the cPanel Store follow these steps:
- Log in to your cPanel Store account
- Go to Orders/Licenses then View My Licenses
- On the far right of the line which includes the IP of the license you wish to cancel, click on Active
- Click Request Cancellation
Refund Eligibility
There is a 72-hour refund period for all new cPanel license purchases. If you cancel your new license within 72 hours of purchase, a refund will automatically be initiated without any further action from you. Refunds can take 5-10 business days to complete. If you do not receive your refund after 10 days, please submit a request to our Customer Service Team.
If you are outside the 72-hour refund period, the license will remain active through the last day of the month. You will see the license status in your store account as "Pending Cancellation". On the 1st of the next month, it will automatically cancel and you will no longer be billed. You will also receive a confirmation email that the license was canceled.
Note: Once the license has been canceled, the IP will be suspended from the monthly billing for a period of 30 days.
