How to move a primary domain to another cPanel account

Introduction

cPanel does not have the functionality to move a primary domain to another cPanel account, so this needs to be done manually following the procedure provided below. 

Please note, cPanel support cannot perform these actions. If assistance is needed, please contact a qualified system administrator.

Procedure

1. Backup the existing account with the primary domain you're going to move.
2. Change the primary domain of the account you're going to move.
3. Create the primary domain under the cPanel account as an addon domain you're moving it to.
4. Manually upload, move, copy, or restore the primary domain's content that needs to exist under the new account.
5. Terminate the old cPanel account you changed the primary domain of if it's no longer needed, or update any CMS software to reflect the new primary domain of the account.
